I think hooper played exceptionally well last night too, he was very disciplined and didn't give away 6 points like I have seen him do before for the tahs, and then to play in the back line and play well was a great effort. I was at the game aswell and was one of the best sporting events I have ever attended. The lions fans were great and the game as unreal. If only we didn't get injuries and QC (Quade Cooper) out there.!!

Did he even compete at the breakdown? pretty sure the ref made it clear to all especially o'driscoll about what his interpretation of the breakdown was that night.

Hooper was great because he chose not to compete, unlike the Lions. If he did, he would've likely been penalised going with the referee's interpretations. Australia missed 5 kicks, Hooper played it perfectly.

He showed a great deal of maturity and Test match temperament.

This is what id like to see. id prefer to see JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing and bring mogg in at fullback but scared JOC (James O'Connor) will be a speedbump for Cuthbert and north.
slipper and kepu made a huge difference in the scrum.

1. slipper
2. moore
3. kepu
4. kimlin
5. horwill
6. mcmenimum
7. smith
8. mowen
9.genia
10. Beale
11. Cummins/Tomane
12. tapuai
13. horne
14. Folau
15. JOC (James O'Connor)

The brittish fans are howling about the refs interpretation that night. you'd think theyd lost the game hahaha

I imagine that we would start with the same pack but maybe change the bench a little. MMM or Kimlin in for Simmons. Smith in for Gill if he is fit.
The backs are the big issue. Lilo, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Barnes.
Beale should start at fullback. Hopefully Lilo is fit and Horne will start for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) if he is out. That leaves JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 which is a major worry.
With Mogg in maybe Deans will start KB (Kurtley Beale) at 10, Mogg at 15 and have JOC (James O'Connor) on the bench?

Why would you replace Palu? After Hooper he was probably the best forward.

I didnt think we dominated up front as much as what tigerland thinks.
Although Palu wasn't as bad as what the smh would suggest, I think deans wants to minimize the amount of players we commit to the rucks and at times he didn't clearout as effectively as his size and strength would suggest. I say bring in madness and that brumbies ranga to put some proper hurt on those britts.

Here's what I think Deans will go for if the soundings around the injuries are correct. Two forced changes in the starting lineup and the specialist midfield and fullback on the bench.

9. Genia
10. JOC (James O'Connor)
11. Digby
12. Lilo
13. Horne
14. Folau
15. Beale

21. Phipps
22. Taps
23. Mogg

I reckon Smith will be a certainty for the 23. What about:

6 - Mowen
7 - Hooper
8 - Smith

Doesn't have a big wrecking ball like Palu, but you could always bring him on late in the game to smash things up for 20 mins.

Looks like whatever the Wobs backline is, it will have to contain Bowe, Roberts and Tuilagi coming at them at some stage? Unless Rebels can do some softening up.

You're kidding right? He's had a stellar season for the reds and was 3rd or 4th for run metres made in the Super Rugby comp.

His work rate is still great, so his run metres are good, but he hasn't been as effective as he has in the past in those metres.

Horne was a 12 when a schoolboy. Tahs converted him to 13 to fill their gap there at the time. I reckon Horne is a more natural 12 than 13, and it better suited at 12.

I think this is pretty spot on. It is no coincidence that Horne has had a cracking season playing at 12 this year. What I like about him is that he is starting to really develop his game at 12 too.

Someone said before that Horne runs good lines, and I have to agree. You want a centre that knows how to run a good line, it makes a flyhalf's job so much easier.

Was just rewatching the Lions game and McCabes running lines were HORRIBLE. On one of the runs he literally started in front of JOC (James O'Connor) and as a result the defense completely ignored him. On others he was jogging towards the line like he was doing a fucking recovery run in the park, and again the defense showed him little/no respect. Horne absolutely deserves his shot now, even if he was still healthy McCabe did absolutely nothing but get over the gain line once and tackle reasonably well. Running good decoy lines is just as important to the skill repertoire of any center as anything else is.

I would prefer Taps at 13 over Horne, I will be amazed if Digby is fit

With the form Tapuai is in/has been in my stomach would be in knots if he played a test right now, especially out of position. He's another out-and-out 12.

Ask anyone who has played both positions at any level really and they will tell you that they are two very different animals and are hardly interchangeable.

With Palu at 8 we don't have a big wrecking ball anyway.

For all the Palu supporters championing of his tight work, maybe the bloke should play lock, because he hasn't been playing too much Number 8.

I'd probably throw Mowen at 8 though and Smith at 6. The taller bloke who has been playing 8 all year will likely be a bit batter at the base of the scrum.

Yes, pretty sure this is how it would end up. I would run Lilo at 13 sometimes in attack so we can get the ball out to Folau and Ioane.

It was an inditement on our inside backs that the one time Folau got the ball at the end of the line was when a couple of forwards were out there!

I don't understand the Palu hate at all. His game was every bit as good as Mowen's and he put in a few dominant tackles and very effective ruck clearances when we were under pressure. There is no chance he will get dropped.
