Western Force 2022

This sounds good, although Prior has been pretty disappointing this season so hopefully McDonald is able to provide more. Disappointing McDonald's been out for a large part of the year with injury and hopefully he's able to recover in time to play some of the Trans-Tasman.
Would be good to get someone like Issak Fines-Leleiwasa (since he's stuck behind Nick White and perhaps Ryan Lonergan) or Ryan Louwrens back for the 3rd spot. Local boy Rory O'Sullivan didn't look too bad when given a run the last couple of years either.

Any other possible options..?

There is actually lot of good young 9 and 10's sitting behind others in other oz super rugby franchises so certainly a few recruitment options there for the Force

Few reports going around saying Lezana is about to sign for Scarlets.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Tizzano sign out west with Hooper returning to the Tahs. This would clear up a backrow spot

Anyone hearing anything about recruitment for 2022? Few departures and few gaps to fill if we're to be competitive

In a pre-game Q&A with the CEO it was stated 4 ex-force or WA developed players playing elsewhere would be in Force colours next year - no names so speculate away

Tizzano, RHP, Isaac Fines-Leleiwasa and Tet Faulkner are all off contract in Australia next year.

Looking at the squad, Andrew Deegan and Shambeckler Vui could be good options, not sure of their contract status in Japan though

Tizzano and Fines would have to be the two obvious pick ups...........

Hooper is back at the Tahs next year, which will leave Tizzano looking for a starting spot elsewhere.........

And Fines was class against the Crusaders on Saturday, but he'll be stuck behind White and Lonergan, plus the Brumbies have local U20's product Lachie Albert in the squad.

Lezanna capped Argentina test player who has struggled to get game time so not surprised moving on

Good to see the rumours confirmed.
Plenty of potential with these young signings.

Western Force poach/recruit four players from Brumbies in Super Rugby coup

Nick Taylor- The West Australian - Tue, 25 May 2021

Western Force have been on a raiding party to Canberra, snaring four young Australian backs from the Brumbies as they rebuild for their Super Rugby future.

They have secured the signatures of scrum-half Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, fly-half Reesjan Pasitoa, versatile inside back Bayley Kuenzle and outside flyer Reece Tapine in the first stage of building a new young side.

Last year the Force vowed not to strip talent from Australian clubs.
They opted instead for international experience from Australia and overseas to produce a competitive Super side after being invited back by Rugby Australia who axed them four years ago.

But the gloves are off as they prepare to lose about 10 players from the current squad including Argentinian Test halves Tomas Cubelli and Domingo Miotti and flanker Tomas Lezana.
Others not returning will be legendary Irish full-back Rob Kearney and winger Jordan Olowofela on loan from English heavyweight Leicester Tigers.

They are hoping to keep former Wallabies centre Tevita Kuridrani to add experience to what is shaping up as a young backline.

Speedster Isaak Fines-Leleiwasa, 25, who won the 2019 Nathan Sharpe player-of-the-year medal, returns after two years with the Brumbies.
He played for Australian schoolboys, the junior Wallabies at the youth Olympic games and won the 2016 Alec Eves medal for Queensland’s Premier Rugby player of the year in his first season.

Playmaker Reesjan Pasitoa, 20, played his early rugby with the Perth-Bayswater club before moving to Queensland’s Nudgee College on a scholarship.
He was in the Reds academy system but signed for the Brumbies straight from school, one of the youngest players signed by an Australian Super team.
He played for the Australian Schools and under-18s sides with Rugby Australia using its then “fighting fund” to lock him in as rugby league clubs circled.
Pasitoa made his Super debut last year and has jostled with Kuenzle for places in Brumbies’ game day squads.

Bayley Kuenzle, 22, has made a dozen Super Rugby appearance starting about half of them at fly-half.
The former junior Wallabies representative joined the Brumbies in 2018 and made his debut in round two of the 2020 pre-Covid Super Rugby competition.
He joined from the Canberra Vikings who he helped to the 2019 NRC grand final where they were beaten 41-3 by the Force.

Outside back Reece Tapine, 21, joined the Brumbies this year from Norths Eagles in Brisbane’s Hospital Cup competition.
He switched from rugby league’s Burleigh Bears, when the Queensland Cup was shut down in the COVID pandemic.
He is a rangy speedster who can play both wing outside centre.

Would signing both Pasitoa and Kuenzle suggested one of either Mcintyre and Lance will leave also?

Would be crazy to have 4 flyhalves on the books - plus Strachan and Mcgregor (though both will probably focus now on FB with Kearneys departure)

I like Stander but he is a bench option at best - should bring Lopeti to smash with his bro!

Tapine is a hopefuly signing - we do need a big body winger. Not sure if he fits that bill but he's getting 0 shots at the Brumbies.

Not surprised on these players being targeted by the Force given players ahead of them whilst Force also know they have been developed well (as Brumbies have to be best super rugby team at developing its players). So Force have solved their 9 and 10 depth problems with this and also added to 12 depth as I reckon Kuenzle could do well at 12 as well. Whilst Fines would have to be shoe in as starting 9 next season. Presume Jono Lance would be surplus to requirements next season, especially as not been sighted in match day 23 since early Au games.

Perhaps likely that the Force backline next year or soon after will be :

Fines, Pasitoa, Pulu, Kuenzle, Kuridrani, Tapine, ? Potentially a top class lineup, but one that looks somewhat familiar to Brumbies fans.

Brumbies fans have two teams to watch...I would suggest this backline not far off as a possibility
Swap out Godwin for kuenzle and put him on the bench and about right...
