In my books the Wallabies have turn the tide and this weekend this young side will have to produce against the All Blacks to show if they are on the right track.
They are already starting off on the back foot versus the All Blacks. Third straight game in three weeks, plus having to travel from South Africa is a decent handicap before the game even kicks off.

I'll bite. Dunning is not playing well this year and has been struggling with his emotions. Several times he has been mouthing off as though he has been taking angry pills. Probably his frustration at his own performance has brought it on but its not going well. Holding on to his club spot is the priority right now.

Only two candidates of note: Edmonds and Fitzpatrick and it seems Edmonds will get the guernsey. Fitzpatrick's time will come.

Happened against Parra on Saturday, sniping in the ear of a yellow carded Parra player as he left the field. Stupid, aggro stuff.

Awesome game for a neutral to watch, what a swinger.

Bloody awful defence by the Boks in the opening stanza, but the Wallabies did look natural with the ball in the hand, so they must take some credit.

I've been on Smit's back for a while now, but I think the loss on this match, can be squarely blamed on the Bok leadership who was on the field for the last 30 seconds (I think Smit was off). I called it in the pub 3 phases before Barnes did that he was going to award the Wallabies a penalty. The game they were playing to close it out, was ridiculously stupid. No effort to make the advantage line, just take the tackle, go to ground then recycle.

I'm not going to go into intracies of laws etc etc as the lawyers on this site will come in purely to disrupt, but consistently this year, whenever teams have failed to make the advantage line & managed to recycle the ball back, they will more often than not get pinged for something. After SA went backwards 3 times in a row & barely even looked to be making an effort, it was clear they were going to do something wrong.

I don't understand why when it's clear your current tactics have you back pedalling (and increasing your exposure to a penalty), you don't pass it to Steyn to kick it out in the corners.

I'm going to say what Nick Farr Jones said though straight after the Bled in 2000. Despite the fact Australia won, there was no doubt in my mind that SA were the better team on the paddock.

Last word.. Beale. cometh the hour & all that. Impressive kick. Carter, the 2010 version, would have missed it for sure.

In terms of finding another hooker, is Frier injured or how has he been playing? If he is fit, please take him over Edmunds the second half seagul or a player who has seen so little super 14 game time this year let alone be thrown up against the best international side in the world (his time will come). Frier's experience is just what we need to fill the void.

Boet a win on the Highveldt at Osfontein against the Bokke the best possible medicine against all of that. This is the time they have to show they have what it takes to plug the All Blacks. If they dont they are back to square one.

With 5 tries to 3? We need to check whether the :fishing button is dodgy

Going by the same logic NFJ was I make that call. Australia had a couple of nice breaks but mainly scored due to poor defence. when SA had the ball and tried to play rugby, they were much the better team.

Pissed me off when NFJ made that call at the time & my first thought was sour grapes... but given the simliarites to this game and that one.. and watching it through neutral eyes. I can see where he's coming from

Disagree Major. Not too concerned about NFJs commentary, ever 2nd comment he would reference the 91 WC which bugged me no end....

But Oz played rugby to, they moved the ball with excellent precision and their fatties really played well to secure decent ball. The boks were backpeddling and didn't organize themselves very well, but that often happens when a team is on the back foot

Boks were very good on attack in the 2nd 40, but they coughed up ball as well. They got their act together at ruck time but Pocock still got a couple of bigtime steals

It was very close so it's hard to say who "deserved it more", but if you look at the last couple of minutes and what the Boks did with the ball, I'd say that alone showed that they didn't deserve it, that was poor rugby. I remember thinking during live viewing saying "they're going to get penalized by doing that", and sure enough it came

Funny how it was pretty obvious to most people that Barnes was going to ping them for it. I was watching with a few bok supporters and a kiwi guy, and both of us said after the 2nd time they took it up and went to ground that the next one would be a penalty. Why wouldn't you kick it to the shithouse, and take your time getting to the lineout? Not that I'm complaining:lmao: great call from whoever decided it was the way to go!

That was just one of the incredible pieces of skill we saw on the weekend. Matfield's was another.

I think I'm going to watch the game again and bask in how great it was.
