8am start for Scots V Riverview which was not only early but fairly cool. Fulltime saw 4 tries to 1 with the final score Scots 22 - View 5 .

Is Mitch Whiteley's (excuse the spelling) brother playing in the 16A's side for Riverview?? I saw a boy who showed a strong resemblance to Mitch, playing open side flanker, and also looked to have some size for 16.

Missed the match but joeys beat New 20-5, not bad for a side that is constantly put down
New were dominant in the first half at went into the sheds 5 all. However in the second half they lost a lot of their focus and Joeys were able to get 3 cheap tries. I'm sure they will take their momentum from this game further into this season.

Twright continues to embarrass NSW selectors. Hell play 1st XV next year, you heard it hear first.

Tom continues to play amazingly for Joeys, maybe without the bias selection next year he will make it through the schools system

I think the problem was one of the brain trust at Southern Zone decided to play Wright on the wing !! and several other players out of their normal positions. Go Figure. !!

The nero surgeons then picked their favoured local league boys in the inside backs. This ensured the ball never made it past No 12.

PIGS FLY.... what bias

Funny joke !!
No Joke.

IMHO despite what many may think, it is often easier for a "star" player to stand out in a poorly performing team, than to star in a team where everyone is doing their job well.

WRT the lad who missed out on NSW team slot, it is not the end of the world. There is always next year. In U16 there are two pathways open, and two lots of selectors eyes, rather than only one juniors pathway in U15's.

If he is as good as claimed, then the various ARU (and other) scouts will be watching him, and JGS/NGS options may also open up.

Bottom line, missing out on age group rep selection for whatever reason does not really matter. cream will always rise to the top where it will reside with turds that are filled wilh hot air.

Hearing rumours that joeys 16a and 16b will be playing against western raptors 16s and west harbour 16s next month.
Can anyone comfirm this?

Been confirmed Joeys 16as will play West Harbour and the 16bs Western Raptors this saturday at Joeys, 16es will be playing Canterbury.

IIRC something similar happened last year with the Joeys under 16's.

Would like to see more crossover between Juniors and Schools teams in the best interest of overall pathway development.

IMHO Joeys should be able to win these games comfortably.

Spent the morning out watching the Scots v Newington U16s Cs, Bs and As. As expected Scots won all three.
Apart from a brain explosion from a halfwit in the Bs, I thought there was some good football played by both schools in all three grades.
Some great battles in the forwards with the new backs leaking some points in the Cs and Bs. The big #8 from Scots having a barnstorming game. There was some def improvement in the backs of the Bs and Cs which has been sorely needed.

The As was very enjoyable, Scots dominant but certainly not everything their own way with New at times putting on some good pressure. Scots had some impressive speed out wide.
