Quade telling it how it is

Do I think Quade's issues with the ARU have merit? Yes.

Do I think he's gone about it well? No

What do I think he could've done differently?
Not gone public with problems in the media without having a clear agenda or solutions. Before he said anything he should have thought about what he wanted to say, what he wanted to come of it. The approach he took should've been dictated by that.

Purely from a TV viewing perspective, Quade looked unbelievably uncomfortable and was lacking in that confidence we have seen from him before when he's on the mic either on this show or pre-game.

He looked distressed even and was mumbling.

Ironically it reminded me very much of that Danny Wiedler interview with SBW on the Footy Show years ago.

For me I can't get over the timing of all this. I can definitely understand that there are concerns and given the public profile of the sport and Quade, I can understand it being played out in public - BUT during a campaign and days leading up to a test match when your team and coach are on the other side of the hemisphere? It just looks and smells way to selfish. He's not the first sportsman to do it and won't be the last, but my personal view is that it's poor form.

Will the Wallabies camp do any media pre-test? No doubt the Saffa/rugby media will be banging in the door to get a comment from Deans and any player in the 22 this weekend.

It's going to dominate the next few weeks and if the Wallabies lose to the Boks it will be amplified. Headlines will be "Wallabies lose because they've no facilities" :)

I think it will be 'Wallabies lose because of disruptive Quade'. He has unwittingly given the ARU ammunition if the Wallabies fail in this campaign. The team was distracted because of the off field antics of Cooper in the media. Whether that is the reason is irrelevant, this will give the ARU the life line they want to continue as is.

Quade really didn't think this through.

I think if Moore & Mitchell come out publicly, their support will just about decide the winner/survivor.
The Rugby club featured pictures of Moore with the articles stating that QC (Quade Cooper) had players support.(yeah I know it's a long bow, but anyhoo....)

I'd be amazed if Mitchell and Moore were with Cooper on this one. They're both tough, hard-working players and both of them have always played really well under Deans (and in the current wallabies set up, generally).

Paarl, sure, no individual is bigger than the team. But how is he personally gaining from this? Do you really think he craves attention that much? Not every one who speaks out is a spoilt brat - some people actually do things like this with a genuine desire to bring positive change. Sometimes we even celebrate people brave enough to stand up for their convictions. I actually thought he seemed sincere - even though I don't think he is dealing with this in the appropriate manner.

Maybe your 100% right - but I fail to see how you can be 100% sure.
Boet all the signs is there. First he poach PC's to play XBox or shite, having bar fights, now he tweet all kind of shite about his coach and team. No way I want this little shitehouse in my team. Anyhow I dunno this tweet things but all kak start there these days.

Yeah they have and that is normally an indicator that they are buying what the coach is selling.
Be an interesting few days...

Not sure about Mitchell. I'm sure he'd have formed some strong views on the effectiveness of the ARU injury rehabilitation process over the last 2 seasons though.

And on the style of play issue, is what Robbie Deans is sending them out to do working? He pensioned off Giteau at 29 because he didn't suit and now it looks like Quade's next out the door at 24.

Not enough people in Australia like rugby ahead of the other codes for us to lose players like that.

On top of that, our performances over the past 12 months have been very uninspiring.

It's like Jim Collins said - "Get the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats".

But what if the bus driver and the conductor are lost? Where do you end up then? Losing repeatedly to Scotland?

I think Mitchell is one of the best ambassadors for the game and an excellent media performer. I'd bet on him having a career in broadcasting after he's done playing. Not that I think he's a company man per se, but I'd think that he'd be circumspect in his actions and aware of how readily one can be marginalized. I could be totally off base, but I wouldn't hold my breath for Mitchell to leap to Quade's defense.

Hang on, the only people supporting Gits at the end were his relatives.
QC (Quade Cooper) isn't being squeezed out, he is walking.
Our performances have been adequate, which also happens to be a generous assessment of QC (Quade Cooper)'s performance over the past year.

Adequate? You weren't in Eden Park for the Ireland match were you? Or in Newcastle in June, or on the Gold Coast 2 weeks ago.

If that's good enough, I'd hate to see what a fail is.

Funny how you only want to debate how the team went, was QC (Quade Cooper) adequate at the GC?
This would be the same game that he was complaining that "officials"weren't upbeat and were critical of the performance after the game?

Well he did set up our tries and all attacking movements, but dont let the truth get in the way of a good rant..

Crap day for QC (Quade Cooper). Whether it was too much Argy pressure, too casual an attitude or just trying too much, the mistake rate was just way too high in this crucial position. He also topped the missed tackle count, but made a few on the way. Some of his passes did hit the mark though. I’m not sure what’s going on but his confidence seems way down and he really is looking like Carlos at his worst.
4/10
This was the lowest rating of any player in the side. So that means he was judged to be our worst player
