Seriously, how long will it take before we start seeing these boats tampered with upon capture to render them un-seaworthy if they can be called seaworthy to begin with? This will put even more life at danger.
Especially as the Indonesian authorities have a strict "one tank of fuel per boat" policy. If you try to go back and ask for a second fill, they do it with bullets. In international waters.
The way this issue has been kicked around as a political football I suspect would be a major reason why the public has such little faith in the current crop of politicians.
That and pretty much everything else they talk about. Democracy as a tool for the people is dead here, thanks to career politicians and their ridiculous entitlements, fact finding missions (junkets), and childish behaviour.
They argue all day at work, then take it in turns to pay for dinner and write the expense off to us. Fuck those guys.
- Disband state governments.
- Maximum two terms per lifetime for politicians.
- E-parliament so they stay on their own electorate and don't incur travel expenses.
- Reduce the golden handshake.
- Reduce the tax system to GST on everything + base percentage income tax, and throw away the claims and bullshit.
- Redeploy all the paper pushers into a community labour force to fix schools and public hospitals.
Viva la Revolution!
