Also I checked match stats and St Sams beggar belief, zero turnovers, zero runs, zero line out takes. Confirmed what I thought at the time, you can't carry a guy because he has a supposed good rapport with referees, he didn't even do that well! SOB, Tipuric, Tuilagui and Bowe should come straight into the side but I think Gatland won't make any unforced changes
I think the reason for that was the refs interpretation at the breakdown, every time we went in to steal the ball the ref pinged us BOD twice. where the first one was 50/50 the second was very good it incensed O Driscol so from then on the call went out make sure your on your feet or let it go. also the Backrow is not a unit,Heaslip does his thing Croft does his so leaves Sam all on his own, now that POC is not there going to be a lot harder for him. I thought he had a good game and will be there to lead for the second test.

Heaslip was immense, he made 6 passes, 13 runs, made 10 tackles (missing 0), took 4 line outs and made 2 turnovers. I thought he didn't have a great game at the time but re watching I saw he had a huge game. Warburton still looked unfit and too often he and Croft played chief ruck inspector. Just tackling all day isn't good enough for an international openside, I've said along his selection as captain was a mistake and two more displays like this won't help the Lions win the series.

Perhaps Warburton and Heaslip were doing the work of 3 players I don't know, maybe the fearless leader needs Lydiate beside him so they can work in tandem? Only thing I do know is the Lions need changes in the back row and Croft then Warburton should be the first two looked at.

Heaslip, was OK just, Faletau in the games he has played if you want to quote statistics has made 7 offloads 55 carries and beaten 13 players more than anyone else, yet he cant even get on the bench, Faletau would complement the backrow Heaslip is for Heaslip.

Any back row with Croft in it needs someone like Heaslip who can truck up crap ball, hit rucks and turn over ball. Faletau is better ball carrier but the Lions have a 3rd centre in Croft so he wouldn't fit in. If the Lions picked Tipuric and SOB as they should Faletau would be the perfect 8

Thought Grey and evans were both good tonight. Particularly Grey. Hibbard too. we actually won ball to middle of line out. Definately Murray over Youngs. Zebo looked lost. Tuilagi kicked to often.

Jackson 600,000,000,000 times beter ref than Pollack

Odd, I thought Heaslip played great rugby on the weekend while Faletau looked meh to me tonight. But hey, I am a Wallaby fan so no doubt just winding you up, maybe if you lobby hard enough Gatland will see the light!

Did toby play full 80? If he did then he's not in gatlands 23. Shame. He was really good.

Ha, can imagine the whinging if Jackson had reffed the match on Saturday instead of Pollock. It would've been without a doubt in the world, palpable.

Sorry I don't see heaslip hit that many rucks, as for picking up crap ball Toby does that very well too, Heaslip will play in the second test but, I think he needs to do more. SOB for Croft,

You can keep the Murray stuff CB, he has done his bit for Fatland and your Lions. The Oracle Stuart Barnes has definitively decreed that Youngs should be ahead of Pikey Mikey so there is no chance Conor Murray is going to do anything much more strenuous than carry a couple of tackle bags and get himself laid for the next couple of weeks. The same applies to Zebo, the Munster involvement with the Lions is over for this tour and (hopefully) for ever.

The last thing the Lions need is another prop who can't scrummage!

It would be funny if Court somehow ended up saving the series for the Lions in the 3rd test with some good scrummaging just to shove all the abuse he has got back down the UK press corps throats.
I've seen this question raised, but not answered -- why did Andrew Sheridan not even get a glance? He kept the Lions #2 loosehead on the bench at Toulon, and he's not exactly busy now, is he? Because the one thing everyone knows he can do is scrummage in Australia.

My understanding is that he made himself unavailable. The Lions isn't the be all and end all.

Have you started petitioning already cos Murray was ordinary last night?

Murray has been ordinary every minute of this tour I've seen him play (DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT WATCH THE REBELS GAME YET I AM BASING THIS OFF OF HIS EARLIER GAMES). He's a poor impersonation of Mike Phillips at the moment.

He hasn't been near his best at all, it look like he is trying to hard to impress instead of just playing his natural game

I disagree. I think he and toby work well together. His distribution is better than either of the others and if he has been doing an impression of Pikey, then he is doing better than the real thing! But our resident prophet of doom Plastic might be right. Perhaps last night was his last game. Shame.

think this tour has shown how good the Irish boys are. Given them a chance to show what they can do on the international stage in a way they never could under Kidney

Corbisiero & Roberts are both struggling to be fit for Saturdays game. The Lions medical team say Corbs should definitely be fit for the 3rd test. Gatland has said he has to think about whether to call up more cover in light of this news. Lions have already equaled the record of 8 replacement call ups.

Saw that. Manu gets a guernsey then, with foxy on the bench.
