Gristlechewer

Charlie Fox (21)
ROOKWOOD - NSW

Shit place to visit, because it usually means that someone you know has dropped off the perch.
No pies, no wines nothing except stonemasons workshops and cadavers. It is a big place and doesn't have anything nice about it as it is the biggest cemetery in Sydney. In saying that, I don't know if I should compare it to auburn. :/

Elfster

Dave Cowper (27)
Dismal Swamp - near Mt Gambier and seems to be near a few other places that are swampy. But also nearish the wonderfully named Umpherstone Bay

Nusadan

Chilla Wilson (44)
Pomona, QLD, in the upper part of Sunshine Coast Hinterland between Noosa Heads and Gympie, famous for its organic food markets, and can't recollect a pie shop there, but a general store there would have stocked a few!

Agnes Banks, NSW. Great name for a suburb. Good farming land at the back of Richmond, on the banks of the Hawkesbury. Could be in the news if the fires move north along the Castlereagh Road. Named after the first landholder's mother, to show what a loving son Andrew Thompson was.

Dargan - NSW. On the Lithgow end of the Bells Line of Road across the Blue Mountains. Another town in the firing line for the massive State Mine Fire.

Aussie D

Dick Tooth (41)
Nords Wharf - Just south of Newcastle, troubled by fires last week. On the shores of Lake Macquarie but not much to speak of by way of pies from memory.

Furracabad - NSW. One of the names proposed for what has now become Glen Innes. Lucky. Furracabad is now found 10 km out of Glenn Innes via either the East Furracabad Road, or the West Furracabad Road. The Google Street View car hasn't even been here. Pies and Wine from Glen Innes CBD. Rugby fix from the Glen Innes Elks. Call Jim.

Dungog - NSW. End of the line for CityRail Regional Train Services. Anagram of Dugong - the sea cow. Birthplace of Doug Walters and the other Kevin Bacon, who's Bacon number is unknown but is probably > 3.

Garden Surburb - NSW. Can you believe the simplicity of the Novacastrians in naming this suburb after the Market Gardens and Orchards that were once here. Surrounded by the Cardiff's: Cardiff, Cardiff Heights, and Cardiff South, and Kotara. Darbies pies available from Cardiff.

Bonnie Doon - Vic. Great place to visit and leave The Castle behind for a weekend away at the Holiday Home. On the banks of Lake Eildon, it is considered by many of holiday home owners here as being one of the most serene places in Australia.

Pies and Wine is BYO. Rugby almost unknown that side of the Mexican border.

Been waiting a while to get this town officially recognised.

ChargerWA

Mark Loane (55)
Narrogin. WA

Wheatbelt town 200kms south of Perth. Worked out there for 6 months building the new Rec centre back in 2002. Never sampled a pie as we stayed at the best B&B in the country, Bellas Lodge.

Only entertainment is the occasional run of the nags and floating chokitos in the brand new freshly filled pool to give the supervisor a heart attack.

Apparently hosted the 1952 Australian Grand Prix on a street circuit.

Fondly remembered. Once you have lived in a community for a few months and become ingratiated into the way of life you really learn to appreciate the country pace to life.

boyo

Not much there apart from the school.
Nearest pies would be the cafe at Running Stream.
It's located on the Lithgow-Mudgee highway.
