Has anyone persevered with the Walking Dead? I just watched the Season 7 finale.

**spoilers up to S4**

Goddamnit I did not want to get addicted to this. Had never seen it before and channel surfed across the start of S1 Ep1 on cable the other week.

I'm guessing due to its huge popularity it is crack cocaine TV, nooooooooo, hundreds of hours of my life about to be shot in the brains over some stupid gore soapy.

Damnit, 3 episodes on every weeknight.

FFS I'm now up to season 4 after about 1 month

FML.

Brilliant timing to broadcast a repeat marathon really;

* baking hot summer (just like here)
* arse-fucking pandemic (just like here)
* can't waltz around outside freely (just like here)

The black woman with the dreads and the sword is such a spunk

Campleader is very impressed with my ability to predict what will happen next.

"They've just imbued this previously dislikeable/unexceptional character with some humanity so that poor bugger will get the chop within the next 2 episodes BOOM!

"After the torridness of S3 climax they'll ease back, the Guvnor won't make another appearance til at least halfway thru S4 and S4 will start with the prison yard covered in vegetable gardens BOOM SHACKA LACKA

I do like how they will randomly bump off a main character then smoothly incorporate new people. I have no real idea when actors are "doing the acting" well but Rick's crappy anorexic wife just seemed like a terrible actor to me. And as "First Lady" I thought we would be stuck with her for 10 years. So glad she got whacked. Also, after all the seasons of shit and hassle the bony slag put the Prison Break lads through I thought it was coolly ironic that she died in prison. A shiv in the belly from some serial killer named "Karl".

Currently watching The Deuce. David Simon (The Wire) is heavily involved and a whole heap of the actors from The Wire have come with him.

Stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal, both play fantastic characters. It looks at the porn and prostitution industries of New York in the 70s and 80s. Not as gritty as The Wire and probably doesn't have the depth of storyline and intricacies, but a solid watch nonetheless.

I've had it sitting on my computer for yonks, never got round to it. So, it's worth it?

Great characters, particularly Frankie and Candy. I think I watched it expecting a similar level of detail and political comment that came with The Wire, but as soon as I relaxed and watched it as entertainment I enjoyed it thoroughly.

going to give this one a burl sometime. Also heard very good things about Doom Patrol and Umbrella Academy.

Also The Boys S2, back in business Sep 4.

Cyclo, you NEED to give "Succession" another crack. I command you. It is the best of the best.

Umbrella Academy is a good fun watch. I liked season 2 better than the first one, it took a couple of eps to get past the "well this is stupid" stage.

I'm really not into the whole super hero genre (even though Watchmen was awesome) but I freakin' love The Boys. I binged season 1 last week, can't wait for S2!

The first season of the Deuce is fantastic......... Maggie Gyllenhaal is superb.

Season two is OK.........

Season three is forgettable.

Thanks to corona virus, Rugby 2020 is the great TV show I haven't seen. Any rugby would be nice.

Shute Shield on Channel 7two is great. Super RugbyAu is as boring as bat soup. NZ Super Rugby was noice but has finished.

Send more rugby.

^ as Ngati Porou East Coast RU's CEO says, "Rugby is a religion & everyone wants to go back to Church".

NB: the bat soup reference is probably in the "too soon" zone.

Just finished Season 1 of The Feed (UK) on SBS On Demand. Seems to start out as an exploration of the near future of Facebook/Skype/social media etc but becomes a bit weird towards the end.

Anyone else had a look? Looking forward to another season?

Very late to these but I've used this COVID period (when things have actually still been damn busy) to catch up on two series.

Silicon Valley and Big Little Lies. Both were exceptional.

I think SV is one of the best comedy series I've seen in terms of cranking out consistent laughs, and keeping the plot going.

BLL was a realm surprise. Great story (now reading the boom) but the performances are exceptional. Some of the best tv acting I've seen, as it should be given the cast. Meryl Streep in the 2nd season is astounding.

I have a dedicated team of screenshotters deployed 24/7 scouring the internet for a GIF of that scene.

"Still nothing yet, Captain."

The Hunting on SBS, only 4 eps.

Richard Roxburgh & Asha Keddie some great acting.

Mrs Badge put it on, and I didnt think it would be my thing at all. But it gets you in , truly scary stuff what kids get up to in the cyber age.
