1 year advantage in NSW, youll find lots of boys looking to further their rugby will repeat to get 1 more year for their school and a shot at highest honours.

yep, pretty much exactly what happens, most open Qld teams are made up of 17 year olds

And that is one of the reasons why you can't take U16 results as a key indicator of form into the Under 18 (open) schoolboys tournaments.

Player to look out for from each respective state team? Alec Hutchinson, a fine young outside center, picked for the Australian Schoolboys and only being 16 years old from NSW!!!

Think you mean Henry HUTCHISON from St Ignatius College in Sydney that is in the Aust Schoolboys. Hutchison was one of the standout players for NSW Schools in last years U16 Championships.

Another "advanced" boy from NSW is the Winger from Newington, Simon KENNEWELL. He was also playing for NSW in the Open Schoolboys Championships recently.

The NSW teams for me aren't the best players in the state. Lots of politics. I believe whilst Jacob Richards is talented he is overrated, and his form hasn't warranted selection.

Troll of the thread award. The NSW teams are very strong. You've unfairly
singled out one player, Richards, who is playing well in Kings 1sts. Last time I checked Kings 1sts are coming off 2 big wins.

Any 16 yr old playing in 2nds or 1sts is a good player in my book. These boys can and are holding their own against boys 1-2yrs older and bigger. Quite a few of them are now playing 1sts - 2 in Newington and two in View in 1s, also Guy Porter in Scots (and Richards). More are now playing in 2nds as the season racks up injuries.

Can any posters help on these two players for 16s:

1. Hutchison probably won't play 16s given schoolboys commitments - can anyone confirm?
2. Also rumour that Girdler is not playing? Injury/position issues? Any confirmation from Scots people?

Halfback again couldnt decide between nucifora and Pliz both fine passers and question the line constantly, Pliz did play white last year though.

1. Hutchison probably won't play 16s given schoolboys commitments - can anyone confirm?

There's no way he will be playing 16s.

The U/16 tournament runs from 30 Sep to 4th Oct (both inclusive) and Oz Schools plays on 1st Oct and 5 Oct.

He will be replaced and since the NSW comps finished last week I suppose that changes for him and injured players who won't be able to play in the tournament (assuming there are some) will be announced soon.

Maybe they have been already.
