What I found comforting from last night's match was that cheika (or someone) is prepared to take the line kicking away from Foley if it benefits the team. That wasn't the case in Wellington.

Things are just better when you can reset (whether you have the line out throw or not) the play 10 or 15 metres further downfield. If you're on attack, that missed tackle is now a try. If you're on defence, the ruck penalty you give away is now a kick to touch rather than 3 points against you.

Generally I'm nervous that the win will merely reinforce some of the bad ideas they're implementing but we certainly needed the win.

Dismal Pillock needs to bring his comedic genius to the table- I imagine he is now concocting his latest dose of comedy gold regarding the game

Dismal Pillock can't be expected to contribute to every single thread on this forum, given that he probably also does so in various NZ Rugby forii, as well as the multitude of Japanese grot porn boards on the information superhighway.

Sometimes you are needed to shoulder the stock image burden at the MS paintbrush coalface. Get to it man!

I don't understand it all. For reference, thus far in the 3-2-1 thread as nominated by this forum:

1.Genia - 37
2.Hooper - 30
3.Cooper -

It's never been a question about his performance, but it's a team sport and a team of champions doesn't make a champion team. It's about providing balance and having players strengths and weaknesses balanced amongst the team.

Wallabies need a competitive lineout, Pooper doesn't provide that.

Any issues we have with the Pooper are solved by having a big ball running eight who can bend the line and catch in the lineout. Maybe that kiddie from NSW, Jed Holloway I think his name is?

Maybe I'm overoptimistic, but I reckon Mick Byrne's influence is showing, particularly in the kicking department, but I thought those forward pick and drives leading up to Foley's try were absolutely brilliant.

A good game to watch. No way near perfect, but relatively entertaining.

Wallabies woukd be better off letting people defend based on their jersey numbers I reckon.

QC (Quade Cooper) played well, his vision and instincts for the game was lightyears ahead of anyone else on that field.

Foley is struggling with confidence and it affecting his decision making I think. Still, he's lucky that he gets free ride from the press and public - QC (Quade Cooper) would have been mercilessly slaughtered on here and in the papers if he had thrown two intercepts in that match.

Just watching the replay after being at the game last night.

Kerevi's stats are incredible. Twice the run metres of the next best (Folau) from fewer carries. 4 DB and 3 CB with a couple of great offloads too.

He's finally had the impact at Test level he's had a Super level all season and I think that's a massive positive. It's been a long time since we had a genuine linebreaker. I know he stuffed up a near guaranteed try but I think if the other Wallabies can learn to position themselves for his breaks, as guys like Frisby managed to do at the Reds, he'll be a genuine match winner.

The other major development was much more imaginative running in attack, with inside balls, flick passes, offloads etc. Most of this was generated by Cooper.

Together those two things potentially hold the key to unlocking what has recently (even at the RWC) been a struggling attack. The third element would be better attacking kicking, such as the crossfield bomb or chip and chase, but unfortunately we're still struggling in that department.

Still, two out of three ain't bad. Can't wait to watch Kerevi running off Cooper next year at the Reds - and hopefully to see it a few more times this year in the remaining RC games and the Spring Tour.

I think Hodge needs to be moved into the centres. He runs fantastic lines in tight, and for mine is a bit wasted on the wing or at fullback. His defence looks very solid, too.

I really don't think it is too early to start calling him the next Horan.

This is quickly becoming the worst Bok team since readmission.

Coetzee thinks the only problem was discipline. God help us. When quizzed if thinks there is an issue with the game plan that is all he had. Discipline. Fuck off.

He has no clue. It appears like there is no skills coaching and no planned backline structure. No deception, no runners looking for offloads. No angles. No mixture of depth. Nothing. Fuck all.

When we had a lineout on our own try line and gave it to de Jongh to hit up in out own fucking 22 I nearly popped a vein.

When M Steyn came on in a final attempt to pull the game from the depth of Coetzee's arse I switched off the tele.

The history of Springbok rugby and its supporters do not deserve this.

Until we have a coach that tries to coach positive winning rugby I am done. I can't support this shit any longer. Just can't.

An Etzebeth really is a dumb fuckstick. He can piss right off.

The ABs will put 60 on us next week. The players do no deserve it. They look like they do not know what to do. Hapless. They are not playing for this coach. They do not believe.

Straight to 12. Not even a moment's hesitation. There's Mortlcock in the way this kid moves.

If Cheika doesn't see it he is truly an idiot. Folau t 13. DHP to 15. A moron can see it.

And please, the Pooper is not working. Last night Pocock made some fundamental errors. He does not play the linking game of a natural 8. He always plays tight. The way the Wobs are playing is crying, begging for dynamic 8, otherwise knows as a McMahon.

I can't be the only here one here that thinks we need a genuine 8 (and a genuine 6) and that it doesn't matter too much whether hooper or pocock starts at 7 and which one comes on with 30 mins to go?

It's a 23 man game now and whilst I think you need your best XV on to start the match, these guys are so hard to split. Rotate them through starts (maybe depending on competition and weather and other factors, mAybe a simple rotation) and the system will still work when one (lol pocock) of them is inevitably injured.

Foley should have a jersey numbered 16 through 23, also. Perfect bench cover when you want to stack the pine with forwards and a threatening player to come on late in the game.

Did anyone else notice that one of the fox guys called hodge the long term Wallaby 12, only for foley to come up on the screen and them awkwardly say "and foley, he is too". Suggested to me that even the fangirl commentators on fox are doubtful about BF at 12 but that they don't like to be seen to be openly criticising (even implicitly) the players. Unsurprising if true - they are working in a small industry after all.
