Certainly won't be getting carried away unless they lift the trophy at around 9:30pm on 2 August.

And THEN my friend, you'll be lucky if you don't wake up on a slow boat to Mexico with Pfitzy, five hookers (one of them comatose), and a pile of coke that would kill Scarface!

;)

I cant say I watch too much S15 rugby, But watched Crusaders v Otago H and then a little bit of Waratauhs V reds which was the better game
I realise Australia have been below par for some time but, on seeing this game I wonder if Wales will get out of the group stages come the WC,
Will be an interesting championship this year me thinks.

I know its a week to the final, but I can't help thinking that I hope Chieka gets some specialist help with the set pieces for 2015. And yes I know Vickerman has been the Tahs lineout coach all year, but results speak for themselves IMO.

Just imagine what the Tahs could do with a better than effective/bare parity set piece.

There's a reason the set piece isn't top notch because it's been sacrificed to other areas of the game. If you want to improve the set piece you might lose other aspects of the play. Seeing how the team has been going I'd rather nothing change.. set piece isn't crucial in Super Rugby unlike Test.

Lineout execution wasn't bad, just that we got picked off by the Brumbies because IMHO the speed wasn't there. More pace = less time for defences to adjust.

The scrum stuff was just shit refereeing and we asserted our dominance there when they started to tire.

The set piece hasn't been THAT bad. We lost two or three lineouts on Saturday, but got a fair bit of clean ball outside of that. We conceded a couple of scrum penalties but also won a few off the Brumbies as well.

It isn't a huge liability, and hasn't really cost us this season. I agree we should always try and be better, obviously.

My point is to evolve and look for areas to improve. Because I am essentially lazy that will make me look at areas of quick "easy" improvement first. The set pieces could be more than the serviceable level they currently are. The Tahs have the ability, at least in the scrum to be dominant, but as with the ensemble play it will take attention to detail.

However if given a choice I would take the play of 2014 over anything produced collectively in the period 1995 - 2012.

Maybe he'll spend a couple of years getting developed at the Chiefs then come home to Sydney?

I sure hope so. I had Cam pencilled in at 19 in two years time when I think we'll transition Will to take Cliffy's place at 8 when he retires. That's potentially a huge loss to the Waratahs.

I see Will as a potential Palu replacement. Suits his skill set much better I think.

So is Jacpot only signed for one year?

One more year, foreign International players can only sign for 2 years. Unless they get approval to stay for longer. I think some people on the board may very well go postal if the Tah's were given that though ;)

Maybe he had an option in his contract to go back to SA, but chose to stay for the second year.

I hope the 2nd option was the Tahs option because going on the history of our African imports he could've easily been a dud. Thankfully he delivered.
