Well done Tahs, really didnt expect that sort of performance, held on in the first half and then just opened up in the 2nd half. Great all round team performances. Intensity, discipline, good set piece and it all came together.

Great effort from the Tahs the best performance by an Aussie team this yewr by a very long way. Creative in attack and defensive pressure on the Chiefs caused a lot of the Chiefs errors and put their timing off sufficiently

:( well done Waratahs, amazing 2nd half by them. Folau breaking the line time after time, tough to watch as a Chiefs fan

I think the signs have been there. It just seems to me it has taken a bit of time to adjust to Gibson's strategy.

There weren't many scrums, but Paddy Ryan looked like he might be starting to resemble a LHP.

How did the Tahs, who are surely only good enough for a NZ under 9s league, manage to win? Everyone with half a brain knows that all NZ teams are the rightful winners of any rugby game, and these contests are simply an opportunity for us to stand in awe and admire their god-like skills. I guess when aussie teams win it's only because they played like kiwis anyway

Well it brings some truth to Daryl Gibson's assertion that the Tahs have been building. Set pieces (scrums esp) have really picked up, and the style they want to play is becoming more evident and tonight, very much more effective. They took just about every chance and half-chance for once. There are still some holes in the game at times, but if you play that much good footy in a game, it'll cover the deficiencies. I was surprised they won, and moreso like that after their effort last week early. Kudos to Tahs coaching staff to get them up and going like that.

Thats not far off the truth. How many games have aussie franchises played this season? How many of them have they looked capable of matching it with any of the top 4 kiwi sides? How many of them managed to beat the top kiwi side by 20 points?

This game is an absolute outlier and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional IMO.

Momentum is a wonderful thing and the missed kicks by the Chiefs and the try against the run of play at the end of the 1st half gave the Tahs enough momentum to build into a great second half.

Very impressive win against a quality team in the Chiefs. It's been a while coming, but the style of play finally clicked tonight.

SANZAAR need to rethink the BP system - completely ridiculous that a team can score 6 tries and not receive a bonus point.

Woo. Good win Tahs. And a big step up at the right time from the Wallabies in the team. Phipps was outstanding. Palu had his best game in blue for a long time. And Folau was back to his involved best.

Wins by 20?
The Brumbies 52-10 vs. the Canes.

Matching it?
Highlanders 30-26 vs. the Tahs.
Crusaders 20-19 vs. the Force.

Granted, a very poor record, but Australian teams have nonetheless won slightly more that 10% of their games against Kiwi opposition by 20 or more. That's about the same as the total percentage of games that are won by 20 or more, so it's not an outlier at all.

Tecnically speaking, an absolute outlier would be precisely one game.

I can't wait to see your Wallaby predictions, galumay. And your gnashing of teeth if we win any. ;-)

Cornerstone of that was the forward aggression slowing the ruck and keeping it behind the gainline - chiefs Kryptonite

Took no shit and blew that bullshit "only a tackle" clever-clogs crap out of the water with the pick and gos as well.

Oh and the Dorothys did ok as well - except for Horrorwitz and Lucas. Neither have had passable game yet this season.
