He's built like a rugby union prop or hooker, not a number 8.

He's been playing League at least since 2002 when he was 20/21, so I doubt he has played any serious rugby.

True, I suppose. But whether you are a leaguies or rugby man, you catch the fucking pill and run like a mongrel. That he can do. He obviously wouldn't know the nuances of rugby. It is a similar argument in respect of Hunt. Played some schoolboy stuff and I think a year of some king of pro rugby but has been out of the game for several years BUT he will probably be good

Learning how to play 12 or 15 when you already played there professionally and spent a whole schoolboy career dominating the position is a whole different kettle of fish than picking up the no.6 or 8 jersey for the first time ever/in over a decade at 34.

It's not really similar to Hunt though. Hunt is a back who adept easier, played Aus Schoolboys about 10 years ago, and played Top 14 4 years ago.

Fui Fui has never played any significant rep rugby, is a forward so the technicalities are greater, doesn't match the body type required of the position and is close to retirement age. In addition he's on the decline in league.

Sign him :) I can't wait to see RG run him on the wing :)

Tomikin - thanks for that quality imput
I wouldnt think he would do to well, his just old, and he has been in the form that seen him a regular player for Parra.

If you were after a League guy chase someone younger, if your after an old guy who runs at the line, sign samo again.. I don't think there are many out there but Hayden Smith who was that NFL guy seems big enough and athletic enough to make an impact at 6 or 8. If I was you I would want him not Fui Fui.

Does the Eligibility loophole work for him ?

NRL Head of football Todd Greenberg has held talks with Karmichael's agent in regards to him joining the Titans, Im still not convinced he is locked in for the Reds.

Let's cut all this talk of Fui Fui and check out blokes like this! Plenty of diamond in the rough Pacific Islander forwards in every Top 14 and even D2 squad.

Sure, you're not going to pinch the ones that are already household names but blokes like this are worth a look.

They probably like to share the same coffee hang outs;)
And besides, who else in thugby league is Hunt's agent also an agent for?

I read the article regarding Hunt and the NRL. Obviously I know nothing more than everyone else here but to me it just sounds like the manager trying to get more $$$ for his client.

I think Hunt has committed to the Reds but they are trying to work out the final details of his contract and with a week to go before the gala ball and alleged announcement its a good tactic to put some pressure on the QRU to get the deal done the way Karmichael wants it.

The bloke is untested for a few years. How good he will be in our game remains to be seen.

BUT we should not be considering entering into a bidding war. If he wants to come to rugby then great, if he wants to play league then fine - fuck off.
