Sitting in Belfast City airport departures at the moment: they just played the Kele song (Tenderoni) from the 2010 G&GR Wallabies montage across the PA. It's sad that this is the likely endpoint of the Deans experiment when the future seemed so bright for the Wallabies then.
Been driven to post for the first time in a while.
Boys, that was flatout embarassing. Actual national sporting disgrace territory. I stopped watching after 15 minutes (couldn't bear the sky comms, dreadful). Truly it was Dingo's final gift to Aussie rugby.
In saying that, time to move on...
An outside opinion on Palmer to France -
If the ARU are willing to let their best TH prop prospect for literally years disappear to France at 24, but throw money at Folau purely because he is a big deal to the Aussie sporting media and can play himself a bit of league, they should all be fired...
Ed O'Donoghue had a reasonable couple of seasons for Ulster from 2008-2010 and was our first choice No.5 lock at the time. He even got a few Ireland A caps in the 2009 Churchill Cup and played for an Ireland XV against the NZ Maori and Barbarians in 2010.
Come the start of the 2010-11 season...
Even as a part time Wallaby fan, I see a lot of sense in some of those comments. One would whether if there's any chance of saving QC (Quade Cooper) and JOC (James O'Connor) from disappearing completely up their own arses now, and indeed if there's any hope of stopping Kurtley from pissing away his career. Can't help but feel...
Cheers Lee, the response back home has been great, tributes for the family have been pouring in.
There's a plan to try and get everyone to sing a round of Stand Up For The Ulstermen at every game at 3pm this Saturday after a minute's silence.
Everyone please feel free to join in. Spread the...
They need to get back in their box re releasing players for international duty. It's the most important and meaningful level of the game IMHO, and every step should be taken to ensure that it remains so.
Not relevant to the thread, but I'm not happy with the growing trend of big clubs wanting...
It'll be interesting to see how a certain John Philip Botha will perform upon his return to international competition. I'd imagine Flip van der Merwe will be getting the starting tighthead lock gig ahead of him though.
I reckon lairy Sharpe the penalty machine was the right man for the job last weekend. I even saw him staring down and yelling at the opposing hooker at a bok lineout! He set the tone for a defiant team effort.
Estebeth was unfortunate to get a ban for the carry on with Sharpie. It was a great...
This. Auelua and his fellow Brumby Ita Vaea never seem to get much love on here when the topic of future prospects at number 8 comes up. Are there any particular reasons why?
I know Auelua is getting on a bit and Vaea is perhaps still a bit raw, but both have a certain physicality about them...
