Good question, I think a lot of clubs have a special "day" or two and they get a good crowd to that. Other than that crowds are non existent, possibly Colleagues consistently have the better numbers watching over the year. Certainly a lot less watching games than in the old days

With out doubt Pats 16's were the better team, far more skill full and very well drilled. I do find it strange to talk them up to the degree that you have, I agree with Lineout length. One thing is for sure no one could accuse Pats supporters of being gracious winners.

The referees decision had an impact on the final score, would the score have been the same if it was 15 vs 15 for most of the game, who knows. As I said before clearly Pats were the team with the most ability, Pius kept in the game through enthusiasm. To say Pats clearly outplayed Pius in the...

No I was quite simply asking the question on what basis the ref ISA refs were appointed. Also at no point did I say the ref was incompetent. They are your words not mine.

Don't you find it a touch hypocritical to bag Pius boys for making a noise when a goal is being taken, yet your own supporters (adults and students) have engaged in the same behaviour.

Further to the ref in the Pius game, I checked through the appointments from earlier this year and apart from one 3rd grade colts game all his previous games have been lower grade, lower division subbies matches. I am not sure what the school boy appointment policy is but I would have thought an...

It was excellent, got home from schoolboy footy, played it on the big screen via apple TV and pretended it was live. Only spoilt by the constant talking of the ref. There was no commentary, so the only audio was the miked up ref. As a mate of mine said "10 tries, 3 yellow cards, 1red and a...

See what you mean will edit the post, we will have to agree to disagree on the red. I do disagree though with "an infringement is an infringement " regardless of the level. I do ref a few games during the year up and down the grades and I certainly approach the different levels of rugby...

Yes I was present and if you want to split hairs. You stated the "endless berating" for the stands, I am stating there was NO endless berating from the stands, who were mainly parents. Yes there was loud supporting from the kids on the side lines, for the most part good on them. It was mostly...

I felt the game today illustrated what can be wrong with the game in the modern era, the refs can determine the results rather than the skill and ability of the players. Not taking anything away from the Pats team who were clearly the bigger and arguably the more skill full team nor do I wish...

I also was at the game, or at least I thought I was because I did not notice "endless berating" from the stands. All I heard was a group of Pats mums yelling out com on Pats, followed by a group of Pius mums yelling out common Pius.

It was also the piles of dog crap that littered the field, particularly if you were playing in an earlier game

Thankyou for you for shedding the light, it highlights the issues that a lot of clubs can face during the year. Just out of curiosity what where the main reasons the group decided to stay in subbies vs going to Illawarra. I suppose it is easy for us at a distance to stand back and say they...

You would think the ARU would monitor these forums, but then again, may be not. If anyone knows Pulvers emails address then he should be sent the link to this post. If no feed back then send it on to someone like Fitzsimmons at the Herald.

I was told that it was an edict from higher up the food chain. They didn't want anything to detract from the test today. As if playing a Halligan cup game at 10am would detract. You have to wonder about the mind set at Head Office sometimes

Ah pfitzy, so many things to respond to. Knowing that we have fundamental different point of view on most things that is not surprising. Firstly Campbelltown, Who raised the motion to go IDRU, committee, coaches, players?? and who defeated it and why. It seems like they decided to play in...

In relation to Forest I have heard the same thing. Looking at their upcoming 4 or 5 games I cannot see it getting any rosier for them either. What's the story with Forrest, I have missed the news on them?
