    Where Are They Now

I do remember reading somewhere that Parra target the Oakhill Boys for their colts, so probably why no Oakhill OB. Notre Dame only a very small uni, they probably only had a team because a few blokes wanted a run and it was easier to organise through the uni.

Enjoying the posts Fitzy, having been there many moons ago. In two years time you can look back at your posts an write an "how to guide" for small community clubs. Keep the posts coming.

    Shute Shield 2017

Not trying to belittle Penrith at all but I don't understand; the NSWRU results page lists the 3's and 4's at 0-28 to Gordon and are lists as non Comp games. what does it all mean?

    Shute Shield 2017

Did Penrith forfeit 3rds and 4ths or are they just not fielding teams?

    Sydney Subbies 2017

Again congrats to you on your stance , i just wish more clubs in sydney would do the same. Would clean up a lot of the crap. Good luck for the season

I applaud you no pay no play stance, but what happens when the gun no 10 friend of the hooker turns up on Sat morning and doesn't have the cash. Do you play him and collect the money next week or not. Again not critisng.

Understand that Manly are paying one or two well regarded recruits just to play colts

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I understand Riverview have picked up Dom Easy from Pius, don't know if there was a scholarship involved. Will be interesting to see where he ends up in the pecking order. He is a very good ISA player.

    Sydney U/18 Colts

Absolutely agree the u/18's pathway is critical to Colts recruitment (not necessarily the rock stars) and to not run the 18's this year would be a stupid, short sighted decision. Understand it is not easy to organise and manage an additional team. Would be interesting to hear from those who had...

    Sydney Subbies 2016

I guess it is harder with only 2-3 grades, 5-6 guys coming or going could have a big impact either way. Again easy to say but I believe the answer is in having a colts program. The good thing about colts is that generally you have mixed levels in the team/s. A couple of guys who slot into 1st...

    Sydney Subbies 2016

Sure location can change the emphasis for a committee but i believe all committees focus on recruitment and retention, the location just changes the emphasis. Clubs in rugby areas are usually competing with Shute Shield clubs and any number of other Subbies clubs with in a close proximity. Clubs...

    Sydney Subbies 2016

The key to success at any level is that it is "well run". If you talk to players and supporters of successful clubs and ask what attracts you and keeps you at the club most will say it is because it is organised and well run. Sure that covers a lot if areas but it all stems from having a strong...
