Not much else to talk about, eh?

    Shute Shield 2023

Woodies 33 - 8 at lemons. 54-20 at the final bell. The only conclusion I can come to is that Marlins were not trying very hard. Maybe they prefer to play Norths next week? Oh, just in case I forget, Ed Craig scored four meat pies this week.

    Shute Shield 2023

Great finish at North Sydney, the Wildfires almost pulled the game out of the errrr fire. Worth watching.

The two games today going as expected, Norths and Randwick both leading. And still.....

Nawaqanitawase has only recently learned how to defend on the wing. 13 is (or used to be) the most difficult backline defensive position. Not just yet, thanks.

Look, I think you made some good points. But on the other side of the coin, Skelton went to a state school, comes from a pretty humble background, and needed to make the biggest monetary return from his (shortish) professional career that he could. No reasonable rugby supporter could deny him...

He's a bit like another Woodies star, Tim Anstee. Gee, I'd like to see Tim in the team tomorrow.

I honestly cannot accept the notion that Eddie is not picking the best possible squad now for this World Cup. To do otherwise goes against everything that I have ever believed about professional sport.

Well, Icely did win it. Which means something. Can't do much better than win.

Skelton looks as though he could play until he is 40.

I wonder what Catchy would have thought about it?

Not good enough for the Waratahs. Weird.

He couldn't do that, he would have had to give him some minutes and expose him as a failure.

    Shute Shield 2023

Icely is irreplaceable at this stage of the season

Sorry for the delayed response. AFAIK there is no change - at this stage anyway.

Times have changed a bit since then. I don't necessarily disagree about taking Hooper, but I note that England will only take one specialist #8 (Billy Vunipola). Playing the other Hooper at 7 seemed to work okay?

No, my statement is a verbatim quote. Maybe my mate is a dunce, or a liar, but I don't think so. As I said, maybe his son fell between the age groups. This is my last comment on this matter.

So either my mate or I are liars? I might have the detail wrong, but what he told me is that his son had to play in Brisbane because there was no competition here for him. He might have fallen in between the cracks, too old for one comp, too young for the other.
