My issue is not so much how much we lose by, but how we lost the game.
If we lost by 60 but had been showing signs of improvement over recent performances, I could handle that.
If we keep losing by 7 or less and show the same lack of imagination in our game plan, no improvement in our skills...
My rational side agrees that the game needs to be attractive to a wider audience for the sake of investment in the game and its future.
My purist rugby side says ... stop messing around with the f'ing rules!!
I just hope that Robbie has more than a plan A for this game, or that Horwill is capable of changing it up himself if things are not going the Wallabies way.
I seriously hate watching a team constantly doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Even more so when the desperation of...
Unfortunately I think the potential for growth is limited. Although most Americans I have met love the spectacle of rugby with the collisions without pads, it is just a novel curiosity to them. They only have eyes for their world dominated sports. You know? World series baseball, NFL and stuff...
I'm not too concerned about Pocock, as I think he will play. A sore back? Rub a little deep heat on and voila, ready to rumble. Everyone knows its magical properties.
Don't forget that he will then have 2 weeks off to recuperate for the finals.
Since when does someone need to earn the right to niggle, WTF? To me that is like the coach telling a newbie halfback that he can't dummie and go if he sees a gap, as he has to earn the right to make the opposition look stupid. If it works, use it!
I quite like the idea of that.
We will still struggle with a ball player at 1st receiver after quick turnover though. Man I wish Quade could become a noted defender. How many years can we keep going this way?
Although I agree that Elsom had a much better game, I think he was more resposible than Higgers for the times that Spies made yards from the back of the scrum. That is the role of the blindside flanker with the no8 in cover.
That is why I would prefer that if both Elsom and Higgers are in the...
Stats are all well and good to provide discussion points between games but lets be honest, they will make no difference to the outcome on Saturday.
The game can turn on a lucky bounce of the ball!
I just hope the game lives up to the excited anticipation I have had all week.
Terrible position to be in.
I too have a close mate who was diagnosed with MND last year and it is tragic to see the impact this has had for everyone. He decided to do something about it and began a foundation called MND and Me to raise funds for the cause. He even managed to raise funds by...
A fit Barnes would only add to the already impressive backline.
Defensivley, there is not much between him and McCabe/Fainga'a (although some of McCabe's tackles were very dominant). It is when the Wallabies win turn over ball and we have to quickly realign for attack that he adds benefit...
I have no problem with Burgess as long as Robbie can get him to get the ball out quicker. He needs to develop Genia's skill of knowing if something is on for him BEFORE he gets to the ruck, if not then get in and send it out quickly.
