Really enjoyed the work of the reserve tight head for the Brumbies, solid in the scrum and unmovable over the ball. How about the size of the legs on him, as well.
Thought it wasn’t too bad for the first hitout of the season. Brumbies defence and breakdown work was very good, forced a lot of errors from the Tahs.
Jorgensen, Wright and Toole were all electric but Ikitau in a class of his own for mine. The way he stands up a defender on the edge is next level.
I continue to be impressed with Ikitau, very classy player. Gets over the advantage line with his footwork into contact, drifts assuredly in defence and his left boot is a real asset.
Hodge wasn’t composed when he came on. First restart was a shocker, the exit wasn’t good enough after we had momentum out of the 22 and then the missed tackle.
Campbell is the same body shape and style of player as Ben Smith. Just needed to go low, although his winger should have made that first up tackle.

Very pleasing that we decisively won the territory game in the second half. SA basically shut out till the last ten as Noah, Hodge etc. were able to find grass and force or at least threaten line dropouts. The new 50/22 laws force the back three to defend the sidelines more heavily leaving space...
