All private schools and kids are privileged. Your ‘crying poor’ joeys approach is pathetic. Maybe you/joeys should focus more on teaching because joeys academic results are embarrassing.

I hear that he is not playing. Also hear that he hasn’t been at school since about mid way thru term 1. Didn’t come back after covid. Maybe his schooling is over?

The message in that article certainly applies to Sydney GPS rugby. Rugby has become a marketing tool for these schools. It’s great to watch but i wonder if the hype is positive for the majority of boys in the long run. It’s pathetic for many old boys including some on this forum and the...

Yes. I think this year is weak at shore. Year below is much stronger. Usually shore 2nds are competitive so I don’t know who they would play. If year 12s start pulling out to focus on the hsc because their academic year has been disrupted, I can’t see how an official comp can progress. Maybe...

Will there be a 2020 gps rugby season? A couple of things, I have heard that Shore are playing in the thirds comp. also heard that a comp is unlikely unless they get something going in late term 2 because 1) they need to have at least 2 contact trials before the comp can start, and 2) many year...

just noticed the highlights of the scots v joeys '91 was posted. can anyone kindly post the kings v joeys '91 game if they have it. 2 of those joeys players repeated year 12 at joeys after completing year 12 at kings.

I certainly wanted to train and tackle harder when I got abused by opposition. Even if 2014 is correct, these boys were in year 7, which they probably don’t remember. The front of the shore stand is about 3m away from the fence and the kings players were walking between the benches and stand...

Ah nah-they all sit behind the glass in the upper part of the stadium! I understand boys will be boys but this stuff crossed the line and I noticed some of the shore supporters looking surprised. I’m pretty sure that these boys have never seen their first XV beat kings during their entire time...

I’m sitting behind a group of about 20-25 Shore year 12 boys listening to them abuse some kings reserve players. The arrogance is extreme and especially bad after seeing the respect shown between the joeys kings supporters and players last week. This school produces arrogant boys who are going...

The academics at Kings and Knox are now up with Shore and Kings were equal rugby premiers last year so it’s not a trade off. But 3 players in the kings team were recruited in the early high school years. All schools are recruiting across many sports and academics including Shore. I know of 2...

Shore’s student body certainly does not reflect society. However, this is also the case for View, Joeys and Scots. The diversity at Kings, New, grammar, high and to a lesser extent Knox, Barker and others, has been increasing for a long time now.

Shore employs based on religious grounds - I have seen it first hand. So I agree and think it’s a major problem. Shore’s long waiting list makes the school think it can do whatever it likes - big egos! As a parent paying high fees, I would like them to hire the best teachers and coaches...

Thats disappointing about Wenona. The ARU have been asleep at the wheel for a long time now. They know that girls participation is growing strongly at club rugby yet miss these opportunities. They are leaving the development of junior rugby players to schools which are now accepting money...

I am not disrespecting Shore rugby. They field 5-6 teams in each age group and 8-9 teams in opens and excluding the first Xv results win about 40% of their games. It’s a good rugby school outside the performances of first xv. AFL started at Shore in 2014 with 1 team and 25 players. I wasn’t...

...something to make us rugby people even more fearful is that AFL is pumping money into the Sydney and Brisbane private rugby schools to promote AFL. The Sydney school that I'm associated has now started accepting plenty of cash from the AFL and I assume other gps/cas schools are similiar...

Junior (and professional) Rugby union is in a dire position. The quality is much higher in clubland vs schools for soccer, cricket, basketball, athletics, swimming......all except rugby, which shows the lack of attention/laziness of the ARU. If folau is successful, the ARU will have 0 money...

A little more consistency from week to week would be something the refs could work on but overall they do a good job. In a close comp of 1 round between 5 teams, you can add refs (for eg, cards.....) to the other key factors which will decide the winner of the comp. The Kings team struggled a...
