I'm calling BS on that one Gavin.

The club that has seen the most improvement in performances in their Colts Programme is The Mighty Two Blues. They were not in a good place in 2012 or 2011.

Rugby is a participative game, and as Scots Basketball are finding out, it is not much of a game if no one will play with you.

The Two Blues Colts performance improvement has been achieved from a combination of junior village club battlers, dual coders and some ISA Rep schoolboys, and liberal helping of volunteer blood, sweat and tears, comradeship and hard work on the training paddock.

It is not always about the glittering prizes.

Considering bushfires in the Hawkesbury, the HSC and some light rain around buggering up traffic, a turn up of 51 including a mix of returning and new players at the Two Blues Colts info evening last night was very encouraging. Training kicks off November 5th.

Well done to Randwick on recruiting those Aust schoolboys as per there website
Be great if they all play colts.
I hope Randwick have done there sums on the points?

Big credit for last season should go to Warringah who made it to the last 4 without all the recruiting of representative players like other club. I believe the were the 2nd lowest team in the points system!! Cannot wait to see what they do with a bit of recruiting for 2014 to hold onto their juniors unlike previous years.

Easts have appointed Pauliasi Taumoepeau as Colts I coach. Inspired selection that should boost their chances of success.

Last year’s first grade captain, Pauli has retired to take up his role of first grade colts coach. Having attended St Joseph’s College and in 2004 captained the Australian Schoolboys side, Pauli brings leadership skills and an extensive knowledge of club rugby that will be used to benefit the club’s up and coming young players. “Pauli is a great comunicator and our colts players will learn a lot from him,” added McCathie.

5 x Australian Schoolboys not previously at the Club as a Junior = 30 player points.
Normal players are worth 2 points.
IIRC Max player points for Colts 1 = 40 points.

Will the Wicks Colts be playing 10 aside rugby, or have they got 5-10 boys with loyalty discounts dropping their points value to 0?

Last year Wicks fielded 36 Player points in the Finals Series Colts 1 Team. Most of these will probably move on to grade for 2014. Their Colts II team had 16 Player points. Most of these would be hopeful of moving to Colts I in 2014.

Think I have seen somewhere some of the NSW I and II boys are intending to go Green for 2014.

Hope they have done their arithmatic correctly?

Bump.

Not much talk about Season 2014. Preseason sessions are now back in full swing. Who is where, who has moved on to Grade even though they are still Colts age?

I think Brandon P-A from the Hobbits is a little under rated and was unlucky to miss out on the big Schoolboy tour to UK last year. Will he be backing up in Colts I this year at Foreshaw Park?

IMHO the Hobbits may surprise a few teams this year if they have managed to retain key players from last years Colts programme.

I spoke to there coach yesterday and they have been training since November doing 3 sessions a week. Weights and fitness mostly
They have lost cam Orr but signed Matt Gibbon so about the same there but they have lost there 2 locks but have Rahboni the schools 8 and all the backs return except for the 10 but have a very good 10 from NZ coming over
There weakness last year was depth but that won't be a problem this year and they came 3rd last year so are expecting as good a year but a lot more consistent during the season with 3rd and 2nds to perform much better
They said biggest problem was dealing with Uni chasing a couple of there players who are juniors
I think it's going to be a very competitive Colts season and one of the best years of colts rugby and the gap between Uni and the other clubs is getting smaller.
