Hoolly Doolly

Just on Cummins word on TWF is that he hasn’t signed with anyone but is waiting to see if the ARU will give him a Top Up.

Would be a real shame if they didn’t as he would more than like head overseas as well as a slap in the face to the Force for not coming to the Party to help keep one of their stars

Im sure if cummins manager showed interest in queensland or nsw he'd get the top up he was after.

herald sun and affiliated papers reporting that force CEO is resigned to losing cummins as they can't match the offer he's gotten from france.

He was supposed to be close to sign with Montpellier. However the transfer window is closed in France and Montpellier has confirmed the signing of Rene Ranger. I don't see any team in France who might be interested by him except if he came as a medical reinforcement.

Sud, you've rekindled that flicker of hope that this is just hardball tactics from Cummins' manager.

You'd hope that with Drew Mitchell and Digby Ioane both moving overseas that Nick will stay on with the Wallabies. But from the Force's perspective, he barely played any games this year. It won't be the end of the world if he doesn't re-sign.

We don't want to continue the tradition of bleeding our Wallaby talent to other teams. It helps for promotional/recruitment/sponsorship purposes to have some names in the team.

I am not a big fan of Cummins anyway.
I think that with DHP, Morahan and Holmes he can be replaced.
And when I see the level of Cam Crawford this year, I can imagine that some player from the Shute Shield can have the same impact if a coach give them the chance to play!

Force have signed Bulls lock Wilhelm Steenkamp

Your article also talks about Marcel Brache and Chris Heiberg.
I first tought the "big name" would be from the Stormers but Steenkamp is a great pick!
It is gonna be tough for the Bulls as they are also losing Juandre Kruger to Racing Metro 92.
Stormers have offered Jantjies and Taute contracts.

Bulls won't miss them. They got heap of youngsters to Frankenstein in there

I read the news a couple of days ago, but I admin I don't know him well. What about him?

So, I've just found out the Force have signed a handful of South-African players:

- Chris Heiberg, prop, from Stormers
- Wilhem Steenkamp, lock, from Bulls
- Marcel Brache, wing/fullback, from Stormers

Considering that they're not young prospects, they don't have many Superrugby caps (except Steenkamp, but he has only 18 caps in the last two seasons) the question is: why? It sounds kind of a gamble, Steenkamp may be useful perhaps, but are the other two going to be next season's CTMs? :p
Do you know them? What about it?

No Alby next season at the Force? He'd get a start ahead of Prior if he sticks around another year.

Hopefully the Force manage to hold onto some of their current players and develop some depth. If Holmes plays like he did for the Brumbies in 2012 for the Force in 2014, then that backline will surprise a few teams.

However, if they get the Brand, I would guess that he would try everything to play in a more key position that strokes his ego.

Yeah. That's the backline. I really think JOC (James O'Connor) will be returning and it's the best for him to be in boring old Perth. Lol

I liked the interview I saw on the telly with Benny Mac last night. He made it abundantly clear that if JOC (James O'Connor) were to return to the Force it would be on their terms, not his. He also fairly directly laid down the marker about player attitude and the kind of team culture they are trying to build. It was the reason why Mafi was shown the door and I'm 100% on board with that as a Force member.

JOC (James O'Connor) can play fullback next year if he comes back, with Morahan and DHP on the wings. The Badger can move to outside centre.

By all means sign JOC (James O'Connor) up again but he needs a dose of non selection at Test level to bring his head back out of the clouds. IF he comes back he plays wing or fullback, enough with indulging his fantasy of being a 10. His new brand at the Force will be 'kiss ass'.
