CAS Rugby 2022

WLF3

Darby Loudon (17)
Just noted that the CAS v GPS games are on this Tuesday at Shore.
The times are 1.15pm 2nds and 3.15 1sts.

Terrific thinking, whoever thought this was a good idea.

Now, no schoolboys can attend, it's school time, and very few parents, TERRIFIC!

I guess we are now going to hear about sharing the venue between schools, who cares, now no one can go!
Knox was perfect, because of it's lights at night and seating capacity, everyone could make it, and whilst it is a long way for a lot of us to travel, we all came and understand why it is the perfect venue.

Not Happy Jan!

1st poster here... Wondering if anyone has some info on how the 2XV comp is going so far. I heard of a tight contest between Knox and Waverley on the weekend, but I'm not too sure about the other schools.

Anyone looking like strong contenders for the 2s prem?

Favourites would have to be Cranbrook after defeating both Knox and Barker by 1 point. Waverley, I hear fell to Knox this weekend by 2, so Cranbrook, I believe, remains the only undefeated side in the 2s comp.

CAS U16s. Word from the trials is a number were preselected and didn't have to do anything. Surprising Knox seem to be the leading team and have limited numbers. Fair spread from the schools though.

Agree there are a few kids from Knox who could feel hard done by but a number of other schools have U16s playing in their opens - eg Trinity, Cranbrook, Barker while Knox doesn’t have any. So Knox should overperform a little in the 16s this year.

Yes, at Trinity, if you're under 16 and good, you're in the 1sts.

Wayne Bennett talking about the Barker 10. Glowing support from one of the best.

if the kid is 19 why is he playing 1stXV school rugby? Are Barker that desperate to win they give these guys scholarships?

And anyway kids - sorry men - can play in open division if they are 19. They can’t turn 20 in the year of competition, so if a 19 yo turns 20 on 31 December of that playing year he is ineligible.

Yeah…. GPS do it differently - it’s no older than 18 during the season or school year (I can’t remember which) that allows the boy who is held back starting school in kindergarten (who subsequently turns 19 in December of year 12) to play which is very different to someone born in January and is 19 for the whole school year.
