Well he is a man of his word, and his words so far are showing to be true.

Interesting when it came time to walk the talk, so far he is the only only that has done so and what he had said seems to be accurate thus far.

Not sure what happened with Parker's legal action. Its been a threat since December last year when he sent Jones the legal letter but has yet to act on the threat.

While not completely onboard, excuse the pun, I'm with him, only because I think he had good intentions, even if he had a lousy way of communicating it.

So far he is the only one that has been able to right the ship. No one else before him has been able to do that.

Its really funny when you stop and consider that for all the criticism about his poor communication and his temperament when dealing with issues, the same guy has so far managed to talk players, including Pocock in to resigning, managed to get significant sponsorships, including another shorts sponsor that is about to come on-board amongst his achievements.

I thought the same thing today as well. Maybe if you're backed into a corner you don't have much choice as to how you react. I guess it's always easier from the outside looking in.

Jones is an investment banker, and apparently a fighter pilot before that.

The radio interview was his opening salvo, these old boys business hobbyists are going to learn how tough the real world is, I suspect.

You don't last long as a pilot without thinking things through and planning meticulously, and almost as likely to get killed as a banker if you aren't up to it.

Not a great day for the Brumbies, if this is public what is really going on behind closed doors with the board, the executive and sponsors. Ihope it will soon ve settled fit the club... No future in fox holes...
Team abd coaches all doing a great job...

According to Wayne Smith in the Oz, the Brumbies lawyers advised against the UC deal but they went ahead with it anyways....

Shit is going to get interesting over the coming weeks.

This could be as good as "Quade - Telling It Like It Is", "JOC (James O'Connor)'s guide to Airport Etiquette", or <take your pick> about Kurtley Beale threads.

More intrigue than an Australian Political Party Leadership Spill Motion.

Seems Jones has allies and support from sponsors / stakeholders. Good to see the ACT Government supporting the "Brumbies".

An Aquis spokesperson described Jones as a "reformist" while ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr said the government had "faith in the Brumbies" as ambassadors for Canberra.
It's understood Jones has had contact from several of the club's sponsors over the past 48 hours, backing him in taking a tough stance against critics of his work.

Interesting that Roff's name had been floated to replace Jones earlier this week, particularly considering he is currently the CEO of the UC Union.

I'm intrigued by the legal instrument that Michael used to trigger his case against the Brumbies. A very astute move.

Mr Jones used whistleblower laws and an alleged breach of contract to temporarily prevent the Brumbies' board from standing him down.

And more reading...

On Tuesday, Mr Jones' lawyer Wayne Sharwood applied for an injunction against "detrimental action" under the ACT's public interest disclosure laws.
Those laws protect people who make disclosures in the public interest. The nature of the disclosure was not detailed in court, however, Mr Jones has previously referred concerns about past financial transactions relating to the sale of the club's former Griffith headquarters to police.
Mr Jones' application said he had made a disclosure, and that a number of respondents – including the Brumbies and the University of Canberra – had taken "detrimental action" against him.
His application also argued the Brumbies had breached their contract with him.
He asked the court to intervene to temporarily remedy the situation, including by preventing the Brumbies from standing him down.
Mr Jones' case, heard by Justice Richard Refshauge on Tuesday, was successful. Lawyers for the Brumbies did not appear to argue against the application.

It's interesting the Brumbies legal team didn't contest the application. You would think that, with all the noise they made the next day about moving on, they would want to ensure that Michael didn't attempt to return to his role. Now, they will be in a very hostile work environment that doesn't serve to benefit anyone.

They are fairly obvious grounds based on the situation. The surprise is the parties named in the injuction. Brumbies board would be reluctant to defend this as it allows for public scrutiny, exactly what Jones did when he spoke out.

It will be a very interesting workplace now.

No secrets, full and open dialogue.

Reckon all the knives have been removed from the Boardroom:)

The interesting part is who is on the board and their roles. The previous financial committee chair in now the chairman.

Also that Parker leaves UC come July and the new guy coming from o/s may look at this all completely differently.

This means Roff will be under new management.

If you look up on the UC website you realise that they are subject to the UC Act 1989 and the ACT Financial Management Act 1996. Any breaches of these act by UC may be prosecuted. So there are rules, obligations and requirements (public) to all financial dealings they have had.

Better still is the reports "they" jumped the gun and told all the staff yesterday they were commencing looking for a new CEO!

Just one outside the usual board meeting timings. If they happen every 2 months usually then it's one that is called to happen in between.

Wayne Smith reported that it was an extraordinary board meeting that dumped MJ on Monday.

Looks like MJ tonight has tried to have the clubs call another Extraordinary Board Meeting, but wasn't successful. Perhaps he's still trying to get this "injunction" up.

Jones went into a board meeting thinking he was about to go on to the front foot in his war with powerful vested interests in Canberra, hoping for approval to launch a Supreme Court injunction against them.
